The City
As a landscape architect,
community planner and photographer, I have become deeply interested in the relationship between
the built and social community and how community forms become alive with timeless qualities. Photography
is my vehicle for exploring these relationships of value. This exploration is about cultural
place-making and how thoughtful planning and design can improve the quality of life in our
communities. The photographic work with sequential and mosaic studies helps me to explore
relationships and adds a heightened sense of drama, accentuating the experience of the space
not easily conveyed. Many separate images displayed in groupings tend to draw attention to
details otherwise overlooked in single image works. These constructions express my
interpretations of those aspects of place that are essential and timeless and enrich our
lives.
